Singer Beverley Knight was forced to stop a performance at a Children in Need charity concert after “feeling faint”, the BBC has said.

The Children in Need Rocks for Terry, which is celebrating the life of late broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan, was taking place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday night.

Beverley, who was singing Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You, was “carried” off the stage according to users on Twitter who said they were in the crowd.

The BBC said the West End star later returned to finish her performance.

Twitter users messaged Beverley to check if she was OK.

A BBC spokeswoman said: “Unfortunately Beverley Knight was feeling faint whilst performing on stage at BBC Children in Need Rocks for Terry.

“She has since been attended to by medics, is feeling much better, and we wish her the very best as she makes a full recovery.”
