The bodies of a man and a woman have been discovered at a house near Claremorris in County Mayo.

They are believed to be aged in their sixties and seventies.

A third person, a younger man, has been discovered injured nearby.

The house is situated in a rural area on the outskirts of Irishtown.

The State Pathologist has been informed and a full Garda investigation is currently underway.
