The World Series will be decided in game seven on Wednesday after the Chicago Cubs romped to a 9-3 success against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field.

The Indians had their second chance to clinch victory – and first on home soil – but found themselves 7-0 down after three innings as starting pitcher Josh Tomlin was pulled early.

Kris Bryant started the scoring in the first with a home run before Addison Russell’s two-run double rounded off a dream start for the Cubs, who are looking to win the World Series for the first time in 108 years.

With Tomlin hooked and reliever Dan Otero entering the game with bases loaded in the third, Russell hit the first grand slam in the World Series since 2005.

Cleveland, themselves looking to end a 68-year wait for success, got on the board with Mike Napoli’s RBI single in the fourth before Jason Kipnis hit his second homer of the series in the fifth to claw back another run.

Anthony Rizzo’s two-run homer in the ninth restored a seven-run advantage for Chicago and, despite Roberto Perez’s RBI single, the teams will clash one more time in game seven.
