The release date for the forthcoming live action version of Disney’s Beauty And The Beast is getting ever closer, but there is still a way to go.

So, to keep fans entertained for now, some brand new first-look pictured have finally been released and, it’s fair to say, the internet has gone wild for them.

Emma Watson (Abraham Caro Marin/AP/PA)

Emma Watson looks beautiful as leading lady Belle in the character’s trademark yellow dress in the snaps, shared by Entertainment Weekly.

It’s the first real look at the Harry Potter actress as Belle, as Disney has kept things pretty well-guarded until now.

On the front cover of EW she shines as she dances around the ballroom with the Beast, played by Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens… although you wouldn’t know it in that particular guise.

Looking CGI-tastic – and expertly done – it’s the first real look we’ve had at his new beastly alter-ego.

There is also a sneak peek at Luke Evans’ roguish Gaston, an aesthetic he wears remarkably well.

The film is a remake of the 1991 Disney film, the first animated move to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, and so it has a lot to live up to.

As well as Emma, Dan and Luke, the likes of Ian McKellen and Ewan McGregor also star in the film, voicing beloved characters Cogsworth and Lumiere respectively.

Following the unveiling of the snaps, Disney fans took to Twitter to express their delight.

Beauty And The Beast arrives in cinemas in March 2017.
