A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire at a block of apartments in Dublin yesterday evening.

The alarm was raised shortly after 5.30pm and six units of the fire brigade worked to bring the blaze under control.

Residents of 80 apartments had to leave their homes as a result of the fire, and a technical examination is due to take place at the scene.

Gardaí detained a man at Coolock station for questioning.
