Talks aimed at preventing further industrial action by secondary school teachers take place today.

Representatives from the ASTI will sit down with officials from the Department of Education.

About 17,000 teachers are expected to withdraw from supervision and substitution duties from Monday next.

It could see the indefinite closure of hundreds of schools across the country, unless a resolution can be found.
