A vigil is underway outside Leinster House in a bid to raise awareness of the hundreds of refugee children stranded in France.
Earlier authorities confirmed the last unaccompanied minors have been bussed out of the Calais jungle camp in northern France.
Just over 16,000 young people have been temporarily re-housed across the country in the past week.
Brian Killoran CEO of the Immigrant Council of Ireland outlines why tonight’s gathering has been organised.
“So the vigil outside Leinster House this evening is to show those in Leinster House that there is significant support among members of the public and among civil society and trade unions.”
