It’s a busy month for Craig David as reports have suggested he will be singing this year’s Children In Need single.

The star, who this week made a massive musical comeback with his first number one album in 16 years, is also set to switch on the famous Oxford Street Christmas lights this weekend.

According to The Sun, he will break his usual garage music mould for the charity, bringing his ballad track All We Needed from his new album, Following My Intuition.

The newspaper said that a source revealed the artist, 35, was “delighted” to have his music chosen to support such a good cause, adding that the song “fits perfectly with the tone.”

Last year’s official chosen single was Jess Glynne’s Take Me Home, in 2014 it was Wake Me Up by Gareth Malone’s All Star Choir, and in 2013 it was Ellie Goulding’s emotional How Long Will I Love You.

Craig also said it was a “great honour” to be chosen for the prestigious light-switching-on role, which is taking place in partnership with children’s charity the NSPCC.

But getting to the ceremony will be a quick turnaround for the star, who has been in Glasgow for Friday’s MOBO Awards.

The BBC said it plans to release more information about the Children in Need single next week.
