Netflix looks to have another huge show on its hands with the adaptation of best-selling novels A Series Of Unfortunate Events.

The first trailer sees Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf terrifying the three young orphan children he’s tasked with looking after following their parents’ death in a fire.

As anyone who’s read the books knows, though, the Baudelaire children have every reason to be scared of their relative.

It’s the first time Daniel Handler’s books (penned and narrated under the name Lemony Snicket) have been seen on screen since the 2004 film starring Jim Carrey.

And it’s fair to say Netflix’s portrayal of Count Olaf already looks a lot creepier than Jim’s representation.

The first season, which centres around Olaf’s schemes to get his hands on the children’s inheritance, will be available from January 13.
