Former singer Louise Redknapp will take on the first Argentine Tango of this year’s Strictly as the competition heats up in week seven.

Following an impressive array of Halloween dances in last week’s show, the remaining couples will battle it out for a place in the final eight after singer Anastacia’s departure.

Ex-shadow chancellor Ed Balls – who received a record score for his cha cha cha dressed as a mad scientist – may need some assistance as he quicksteps to The Beatles’ Help! with professional partner Katya Jones in Saturday night’s show.

Crowd favourite Ed is tipped to leave this weekend. However, his odds of winning the competition were also slashed from 150/1 to 50/1 by bookies’ Coral.

Judge Rinder will also tackle the quickstep with partner Oksana Platero to Chantz Powell’s version of It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing) whilst Louise and Kevin Clifton will be the first couple to take on the Argentinian tango as they perform Tanguera by Sexteto Mayo.

Model Daisy Lowe – who has survived the past two weeks through the dance off – will attempt the Viennese waltz to Daisy Bell by Harry Dacre.

After finishing joint top of last week’s leaderboard, TV presenter Laura Whitmore and partner Giovanni Pernice will dance the samba to Gipsy Kings by Bamboleo.

Whitmore, who missed week five with a bruised ankle, said earlier this week she hopes “pain will give (her) a bit of an edge” as she prepares for a second dance with the injury.

Gymnast Claudia Fragapane – who also topped last week’s scoreboard – will paso doble to Walk The Moon’s Shut Up And Dance, whilst fellow Olympian Greg Rutherford will take on the Viennese waltz to You Don’t Own Me by Grace.

Early favourite Danny Mac will dance the jive to Little Richard’s Long Tall Sally, and sports presenter Ore Oduba will attempt the salsa to Turn The Beat Around by Vicki Sue Robinson.
