Ed Balls quick-stepped his way across the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor to gain his highest points total of the series.
The former shadow chancellor and dancing partner Katya Jones adopted the guise of the classic Laurel and Hardy, as they skipped along to Help by The Beatles.
If Ed’s performance last week was anything to go by – a pretty disastrous cha-cha – nobody could have prepared themselves for what was to come.
Omg Ed Balls was actually half decent 🙀😹 stunned! #Strictly

The 49-year-old put on what was quite possibly his best performance yet, as he swivelled his way into viewers’ hearts.
The judges couldn’t help but sing his praises as they commended Ed on his transformation throughout the series, with Craig Revel Horwood commenting: “I can’t believe I’m actually saying this, but you are improving – which is thrilling to see.”
Seriously @edballs has proper warmed my heart with his progress and sheer LOVE of learning to dance. That's why I love #Strictly

In this currently joyless world filled with political desperation and anger, thank GOD for @EdBalls on #Strictly.

Ed received an impressive 27 points for his quick-step – the highest score he’s received in the series so far – but it wasn’t quite enough to edge him out the firing line as he ended the evening at the bottom of the scoreboard.
