Celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli has revealed the “devastating news” that his newborn baby boy has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer.

Eight-week-old Valentino is undergoing hospital treatment after Jean-Christophe and his fiancee, Michelle, last week found a lump on their son’s neck.

While the family is keeping “positive,” the chef, 55 – who runs the Novelli Academy Cookery School in Hertfordshire, has postponed a number of upcoming engagements to be with them.

Little Valentino, born barely two months ago, is Jean-Christophe’s fourth child.

A spokesman for the chef told Hello! Magazine: “Jean-Christophe’s priority at this time is supporting his family as they deal with this devastating news, it is still very early days but they remain positive and believe the NHS experts are doing everything possible.

“Jean has had to postpone all his immediate work over the next two weeks to be with his baby and support his family but is grateful for the understanding and support during this very difficult time.”

Neuroblastoma is the second most common childhood tumour and affects around 100 children in the UK each year – most of them under five years old.

It is a cancer of specialised nerve cells, neural crest cells, which are involved in the development of the nervous system and other tissues.

The news comes as singer Michael Buble also announced that his three-year-old son Noah has been diagnosed with cancer.

The Canadian musician wrote on his Facebook page that he and his wife Luisana Lopilato were left “devastated” at the diagnosis, and had put their “careers on hold” to take care of him.
