A murder investigation has been launched after a disabled man in his 60s was stabbed to death.

Anthony Rogers was stabbed in his home in Robinson’s Court off Cork Street in Dublin yesterday.

61-year-old Anthony Rogers was attacked in his home at around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon.

Mr Rogers was disabled and used a wheelchair and was left bleeding in his home after the attack.

He was rushed to St James’ Hospital but died a short time later.

Superintendent Patrick McMeniman said they are looking to speak to a man seen in the area.

Supt McMeniman said: “We are appealing to a person that was there who was wearing a light-coloured grey hoodie, a beige baseball cap, navy tracksuit bottoms and white runners.

“He may have had the hood of his hoodie up at times over the beige baseball cap.”

At the moment gardaí say they are keeping an open mind about the motive of the attack.

Robinson’s Court is a quiet area where mostly older people live, but it is the second fatal stabbing at the complex.

An 80-year-old man was stabbed to death there in 2006.
