A public meeting to discuss the concerns of the residents at Ramsgate Village will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 9, at 7.30 pm, in the Coach House, Gorey, and everyone is welcome.

Residents of the private housing estate are challenging Wexford County Council’s Draft Gorey Local Area Plan after suggestions that appeared in the plan proposes putting a “Main Street and Road through a cul-de-sac” that has 16 property owners and their families at The Heath and The Chase in Ramsgate Village.

Objections already lodged with the Planning Department of Wexford County Council include suggestions on a map for Ramstown Lower to Ramsgate Village that would plan to open up a cul-de-sac at house numbers 104 and 110 at The Heath.

The cul-de-sac is unfinished with a site for five houses with ground services installed in an overgrown state and lying idle.

There is also local opposition to plans for a footbridge over the railway and coming into the cul-de-sac at The Chase.

It is understood that a significant number of the 400 house owners in Ramsgate Village have made submissions on the Draft Gorey Town and Environs Plan which closes for applications on Thursday, November 10.
