Eddie Redmayne has revealed he tried out to play Kylo Ren in Stars Wars: The Force Awakens – but his audition flopped.
The Oscar-winning actor went up for the part of a villain in the film two years ago.
And while details were under wraps, he believes the role was that of Kylo Ren, which eventually went to Adam Driver.
He said in an interview with Uproxx: “So, I was going for, I think, for Adam Driver. They gave me like a Star Trek scene – or like something from Pride And Prejudice.
“It was one of those films. With films that top secret, they don’t give you the actual lines. So they give you a scene from Pride And Prejudice, but then they tell you you’re auditioning for the baddie.
“If you’re me, you then put some ridiculous voice on.”
Eddie, who scooped his Academy Award for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in 2014′s The Theory Of Everything, went on: “She (the casting director) was just sitting there and I was trying again and again with different versions of my kind of (makes Darth Vader breathing noise) voice.
“And after like ten shots she’s like, ‘You got anything else?’ I was like, ‘No’.”
