Singer Katy Perry has cancelled a concert in China due to a “family emergency,” according to reports.
The 32-year-old appears to have posted on the Chinese social media site Weibo to apologise to her fans, who expected to see her on stage at the show organised by the firm Alibaba.
The post read: “Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency.
“I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon.”
She was due to headline the concert alongside OneRepublic on Friday.

David Beckham is rumoured to take her place.
Katy’s cancellation follows her strong social media response to the result of the US election, including a Tweet saying she would “cry her false eyelashes off” after Hillary Clinton failed to secure the presidency.
The American, who accompanied Hillary on stage in the final days of her campaign, also urged her followers to continue pushing for what they believed in, despite the politics.
