Fans of Gogglebox may be sad to learn that, not only will Scarlett Moffatt be missing from the current series as she takes part in I’m A Celebrity, but the other Moffatts will too.

This follows the Gilbey family being absent from the popular Channel 4 programme after George went into the Celebrity Big Brother house back in 2014.

A Channel 4 spokesman told Digital Spy, of the Moffatts: “The whole family will no longer participate in this series of Gogglebox.”

Scarlett’s parents, Mark and Betty, who banter with their daughter while watching TV shows, will be absent from our screens while she tackles Bushtucker Trials in the Australian jungle.

However, the County Durham-based family will return for the ninth series of Gogglebox in 2017.

Scarlett, who has recently shed three stone in weight, is one of 10 stars appearing in the ITV reality show when it kicks off on Sunday.

The 26-year-old TV favourite has confessed to her phobias being “small spaces, the dark and walking across bridges”, which may cause her some upset while in the jungle.

She also joked that being on the show will give her a chance to “show people that I have legs” after mainly being broadcast sitting in an armchair in Gogglebox.
