It’s here! The trailer for Valerian And The City of A Thousand Planets has dropped and it looks AWESOME.
Starring model Cara Delevingne, Ethan Hawke, John Goodman and even Rihanna, we already knew it was going to be good – but this action-loaded teaser promises so, so much more.

Due to hit screens next July, it is inspired by the French comic series about a utopian world where humanity has perfected the art of both space and time travel.
It’s directed by Luc Besson – yep, the genius who brought us The Fifth Element in 1997 – who celebrated the trailer’s release with a live Q&A session on Twitter.
And in just a few moments we learnt pretty much everything we wanted to know about him and the Valerian project.
For example, he is probably one of the Valerian stories’ biggest fanboys…
It's been a big part of my life since I was 10 years old. It took me a long time to make it and I didn't want to get it wrong. #AskLucBesson https://t.co/W5lIUj3pFE

When I was 10, every Wednesday there was a comic book with 2 pages of #Valerian in, and I discovered it then. #AskLucBesson https://t.co/1GMpPlMCxH

Yes I do, and I still enjoy it a lot. Especially in the Winter, near the fireplace. #AskLucBesson #Valerian https://t.co/bY7NcgFRhh

We learnt who was the most mischievous actor to work with on Valerian. Looking at you, Cara…
Definitely @CaraDelevingne! #AskLucBesson #Valerian https://t.co/2bMqOdvStY

…compared to grown-up Rihanna…
She is very professional and it was a pure pleasure. No ego, she is focused and at the service of directors. #AskLucBesson #Valerian https://t.co/nsuPGe0z4s

We discovered how many people are needed to bring a movie like this together…
They were made in Paris by Chief costume designer Olivier Beriot with more than 400 people working on the 1000 costumes. #AskLucBesson https://t.co/ImT5aDAb0b

Luc shared a very brief, almost poetic, CV…
I started writing at 13 when I lived in the country, it was my way of escaping. I produce because no-one wanted to produce me! #AskLucBesson https://t.co/mXn8Nmn9ll

And how, as the boss, he really doesn’t ask for much. Um…
No ego. Some talent. And to trust me until death. #AskLucBesson #Valerian https://t.co/XiSPHkeDtu
