Gardaí have seized around €300,000 worth of cannabis herb in Co. Kildare and Co. Dublin.

Officers from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, supported by the Special Crime Task Force, also made two arrests during the operations.

Gardaí stopped and searched a car in Kilcock this afternoon and arrested a man in his 40s after finding a large quantity of cannabis herb.

He is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Leixlip Garda Station.

In a follow-up search, more cannabis herb was found at a house in the north inner city of Dublin and arrested awoman in her late 40s.

She is being held at Store Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
