A man has today pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of his partner at their home last year.

Patrick O’Rourke (aged 63) of Cooline Drive, Ballyvoloon, Cobh, Co Cork pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Donna Foster at Cooline Drive on August 11, 2015.

A jury was sworn today at the Central Criminal Court to hear his trial.

Justice Patrick McCarthy asked the jury panel to select a foreman and then return on Wednesday.
