The Cavs’ maiden defence of the NBA championship they won earlier this year has got off to a good start and they continued that with a 100-93 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook’s triple-double was in vain as the Orlando Magic stole a 119-117 win.
Westbrook scored 41 points, with 12 rebounds and 16 assists, but, playing against the team he left in the summer, it was Serge Ibak’s action that was decisive as he hit a two-pointer in the final few seconds.
Andrew Wiggins had the best night of his career as he threw 47 points to fire the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 125-99 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry both scored 30 points for the Golden State Warriors as they rallied to beat the Phoenix Suns 133-120 and the Portland Trail Blazers enjoyed a 112-105 success over the Denver Nuggets.
