The I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! contestants have only just moved into camp, but it has already started to look as though Carol Vorderman is feeling the strain as viewers saw her talking to a toad.
Maths whiz Carol couldn’t sleep on her first night in the jungle and so decided to pass the time with a cosy chat around the camp fire – nothing unusual there, you might think.
But something didn’t quite add up about the conversation … perhaps because she was trying to speak to a toad.
Camp mate Jordan Banjo, 23, woke during the night and was confronted by the unusual sight as Carol, 55, said to the toad: “Ooh, you little monkey. Don’t you look at me like that, we can have a chat.”
She went on: “It’s just the two of us, halt! Who goes there, friend or foe?”
And she also told the creature: “I’ve got frog eyes too, you’re a big boy aren’t you?”
But one viewer who found the show even more difficult watching than those trying to make sense of Carol was dancer James Jordan, whose wife Ola is in the jungle for this series.
James, who’s known for live tweeting throughout episodes of Strictly Come Dancing now that he and Ola have left the show, has turned his online attentions to I’m A Celeb instead.
Unsurprisingly, he found the launch show where Ola walked a plank 334ft in the air off the end of the roof of a hotel particularly traumatic.

He spoke to ITV’s Lorraine and revealed that taking part in the show was a dream for Ola: “She’s always said that’s the one she’d love to do. When she got the call she was actually quite emotional. She’s so happy to be on there.
“I’m very protective of Ola, I know what she came from. She’s from Poland, was living through Communism, queueing for bread and milk. She became one of the best dancers in the world and now she’s on a show she dreamt of being on.”
Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge could be welling up watching her husband on screen too, as Wayne had a good old cry about how much he was missing his children.
The ex-footballer has three sons – one with former girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel, and two with wife Frankie, who he is already pining over.
He cried to the other campers: “I retired from football about two years ago and ever since I’ve been a stay-at-home dad.
“Not being able to call my children to see how they are… I find it really hard. I miss them loads.”
There’s no I’m A Celebrity on Tuesday night, but you can catch up with all the latest news from camp on Wednesday night on ITV at 9pm.
