RENTS ARE on the rise again in County Wexford.

According to the latest quarterly Rental Report by property website Daft.ie, those renting in County Wexford paid nine per cent more for their accommodation in the third quarter of 2016 than in the same period the previous year.

The average advertised rate in the county is now €668, a hike of 23 per cent on their lowest point.

Nationwide, rents rose by 11.7 per cent on average in the year to September 2016.

The average monthly recent nationwide, in the third quarter of the year, was recorded at an all-time high of €1,077.

This was the largest annual increase in rents ever recorded in the report, which has been published since 2002.
