After an 11-month break, Petr Cech and his drums are back – with possibly his most impressive performance yet.

Over recent years the Arsenal keeper has built a reputation for being as handy with two sticks as he is between them – a joke we’re sure you’ve read before, sorry – but his impressively technical cover of Linkin Park’s Iridescent suggests he really could have a music career after football.

The video got a rapturous reception on the former Chelsea goalkeeper’s YouTube channel, with one commenter calling him a “superhero”, while another said: “I’m not a music expert but I think you killed it.”

Cech has uploaded various other songs in the past, covering the Foo Fighters, Nirvana and even Rihanna.

Never has a sleeveless T-shirt been worn so well.

Cech’s Arsenal will go to Old Trafford to play Manchester United in Saturday’s early game at 12:30pm – if he can put on as good a performance as he can in a recording studio it could be a heck of a weekend for the Gunners.
