A major search operation is underway off the Arklow coastline in Wicklow after a man went overboard from a local fishing vessel earlier this morning.

Arklow lifeboat along with the Rosslare Lifeboat and the 117 search and rescue helicopter from Waterford are currently on scene carrying out a search of the area.

Wicklow Lifeboat crew are also understood to preparing to assist in the operation.
