SIPTU has said that more pay claims are to come from its Transport, Energy and Construction Division.

The division is holding a conference today, which will include discussions about the Luas and Dublin Bus disputes and the privatisation of public transport.

It comes as Congress’ Public Sector Committee is holding exploratory pay talks, while the private sector committee said there should be a 4% pay increase.

“The workers we represent have had to tighten their belt like all workers in this economy, public and private, in the last eight recessional years, and it’s not important that they get their fair share of a growing economy,” said SIPTU Divisional Organiser is Owen Reidy.

“We look forward to negotiating with confidence with many of the companies that we organise in for decent pay increases over the next 12 and 24 months and beyond.”
