The six remaining X Factor contestants will be taking viewers to the cinema this weekend as they return to the stage for movie week.

Emily Middlemas, now the sole singer in the girls category following Sam Lavery’s elimination on Sunday, will be singing the emotional love ballad It Must Have Been Love, by Roxette, from Pretty Woman.

In the boys category, Ryan Lawrie – who was also in the bottom two last week – will sing Elvis Presley’s Jailhouse Rock from the film of the same name, while Matt Terry will perform Sam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall, used in last year’s James Bond instalment, Spectre.

Honey G will bring together another Will Smith track, Getting Jiggy With It, with Jason Nevins’ It’s Like That, which features in Keith Lemon The Movie and Last Days Of Disco.

Also in the over 25s category, Saara Aalto will be keeping things classic with one of the most recognisable tracks in cinema history: Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On, from Titanic.

The last remaining group, 5 After Midnight, will reinvent Otis Redding’s Try A Little Tenderness from The Commitments.

Following her departure from the show by public vote, Lavery said that the experience helped her achieve her highest goal of making her singer grandfather proud.

She told ITV: “My granddad is literally the cutest person, and he’s so proud of me.

“I’ve kind of done everything that he’s wanted to do – so I’ve done it for me and him, and it’s just been incredible – he’s so proud.”

I’m going to go on and gig. I’m going to write some original songs and show everyone who I am as an artist.”
