Men’s Development Network (MDN) has today called on men need to support the end of violence against women and promote gender equality to create a safer world for everyone.

MDN is marking International Men’s Day today by focusing on their White Ribbon Campaign.

It aims to show that men care about ending violence and gender inequality and to demonstrate how and why they care.

“In our experience of working with men, men are very, very caring of each other, and particularly of their partners and their children,” said MDN chief Alan O Neil.

“And one area that has come to the fore in our work is men that want to end violence against women and want to promote gender equality.

“So we’re going to focus on that for International Men’s Day, to demonstrate how caring men are.”
