Arsenal headed into their penultimate Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain with the chance to seal first place in their group.
But after an odd spectacle of a game, the Gunners could only draw 2-2 against the French champions, unable to capitalise on an Olivier Giroud penalty and a Marco Verratti own goal.
2009 - Arsenal v PSG is the first Champions League match to have more goals than shots on target since Rangers v Unirea in Oct 2009. Quirky.

The result did continue Arsenal’s impressive winning streak.
Arsenal are now unbeaten in 18 games across all competitions since losing their opening game of the season to Liverpool.

But most admitted that PSG had been the better side.
Fair play PSG. Dominated both games v Arsenal & should have won both. Deserve to finish top. @PSG_inside

Talk very quickly moved on to Arsenal’s potential last 16 opponents – the round of 16 has proved fruitless for Arsenal over the last six years.
Many believe it doesn’t matter who the Gunners play.
Arsenal gonna finish 2nd. Get an easy Round of 16 draw. Still get knocked out.

But after results elsewhere, it became apparent that Arsenal could win their group and still face a European giant who had finished second.
Why bother trying to win then?

However, a second-place finish for the Gunners leaves them open to tricky teams as well.
You can see that Arsenal v Barcelona draw already.

If we win this we get Bayern. If we don't we get Barcelona. You just know it Arsenal and UCL draws just don't get along

The list of potential opponents looks daunting, doesn’t it?
As it stands, #AFC get either Barca, Atleti, B Dortmund, Juve, Monaco or Benfica in last 16. So, 66% chance of awful tie (yet again)
