Renters are calling on the Government to include them in any discussions on the housing crisis.

According to the latest figures from Savills, rent prices are predicted to rise by between 22% and 26% over the next two years.

There’s been a 61% increase in the number of people renting in Dublin over the past five years.

Sive Bresnihan of Dublin tenants association said it was important they were included in plans.

“Rent is continuing to go up and standards are continuing to go down, and there’s a sense of no tenant voice in the landscape,” she said.
