Barnet’s clash against Enfield Town in the Middlesex Senior Challenge Cup didn’t look like it was going to be a thrilling match – but Joe Payne had other ideas.

With the keeper off his line, the youngster proved doing a David Beckham can happen in every tier of football.

Sadly for Barnet the goal wasn’t enough to win them the game as they were knocked out by penalties after the score finished 3-3, but Payne’s goal is still one he’s unlikely to forget anytime soon.

With a stunning strike, accompanied by one of the most satisfying thwacks of a ball you’re ever likely to hear, Payne pinged the ball half way across the pitch into the top corner off the woodwork.

Payne’s is a goal which immediately begs comparison with Beckham’s against Wimbledon in 1996 – the goal which made Beckham a household name. With the delicious strike off the woodwork and top corner finish though, we reckon it’s even better.
