Sir Elton John will not perform at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, a spokeswoman for the singer has confirmed.
Anthony Scaramucci, a member of Trump’s transition team had told BBC Hardtalk the singer would perform at the ceremony in Washington DC next January.

However, a representative for Sir Elton told the Press Association this is untrue.
Sir Elton was a vocal supporter of Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton, performing at a Los Angeles fundraiser for her just weeks before the election.
At the event Sir Elton reportedly said of Clinton: “We have to elect this humanitarian — we cannot let this barbarian (Trump) in office.”
