Lady Gaga has reached out in a series of social media posts to support fellow music artist Kanye West.
The rapper was taken to hospital suffering from “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration” earlier this week.
The musician was reportedly admitted to hospital after police were called to reports of a disturbance on Monday, a day after he cancelled the remainder of his tour.
His wife Kim Kardashian – who was the victim of an armed robbery in Paris in early October – rushed to be by his side in Los Angeles after being in New York, where she was supposed to attend an event with her family.
Lady Gaga has shared the love, by urging people to not make jokes about mental illness in the wake of Kanye’s admission to hospital.
She wrote: “It’s not funny to joke about anyone’s possible or not possible mental illness, this is a sensitive time for many. Let’s be kind & loving.
“While I don’t agree with everything he does I hope the public shows compassion and (love) for @kanyewest and each other. One love. One Race.”
She added, in a message directly to him: “@kanyewest I support & love u brother, I see in you bravery & courage to stop this tour & take care of YOU. You are a GREAT artist.”

Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner, who was at an event in New York with daughters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, said that he is “exhausted” due to his tour.
Addressing why Kanye had cancelled his tour, Kris told US TV show Extra: “He’s exhausted, he’s just really tired. He’s had a gruelling tour and it’s been a grind so he just needs some rest.”
