Friday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! was always set to be a cracker as it was the first public eviction, and boy did it deliver. Tensions and emotions were high for the whole programme.

For many people, it was getting a bit annoying how friendly the whole group was. Seriously, on what previous series of I’m A Celeb has everyone got on so well? Where are the catfights for heaven’s sake?

However, the public didn’t quite share the same level of goodwill towards the contestants. There was one person who really got everyone’s goat, and that was Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts.

Even though Joel Dommett got all emotional and said: “Martin I think you’re one of the strangest people I’ve ever met, and I genuinely love you,” people just couldn’t get on board.

When he started harping on about a revolution, people just wanted him to shut his pie hole.

So when Larry Lamb seemed to get a bit short with him, the crowds went wild. It probably helps that Larry is one of the most beloved celebs on the show. Seriously, even when he showed his builders bum on national TV we still loved him.

But back to Martin. When the trial came, unsurprisingly he was a total flop.

The celebs were in pairs, one blindfolded and the other directing them through the obstacle course to retrieve stars. Obviously Martin wandered about like a headless chicken, and people weren’t even sure if he was trying.

But there were some who found his performance somewhat relatable.

So when the decision finally came, people just couldn’t wrap their heads around the fact that Martin wasn’t kicked off the show.

But maybe, just maybe, it’s a good thing for the show. If you like drama, that is.

And hey – this is 2016, where no votes go quite to plan.
