Researchers and investors will gather for a showcase of Irish innovations of the future at Enterprise Ireland’s Big Ideas event at Dublin’s Helix today.

The event will be opened by the Minister of State for Training, Skills and Innovation, John Halligan.

Five entrepreneurs will describe how they brought their business from concept through to commercialisation.

The event will also give eight investor-ready start-up companies the opportunity to pitch their new innovations to investors.

“The innovation sector in Ireland is incredibly healthy,” says Carol Gibbons, head of research and innovation start up at Enterprise Ireland.

“We have a good base of innovative research, it follows on fro Government strategy Innovation 2020, where we are pushing more and more innovation into the commercialisation of products and services.”
