A fire has broken out at a vacant apartment building Lower John Street in Cork city centre.
Several units of the Cork City Fire Brigade are at the scene.
The scene of the fire is close to, but separate from, the Heineken brewery in the city.
Update 9.41pm: The fire is under control and there are no reports of injuries.
Emergency Services are expected to remain on scene for the rest of the night.
Road closures and traffic diversions will remain in place, including the closure of Upper John Street.
This may affect bus routes in the area tonight and in the morning.
