Dame Helen Mirren surprised actor James Marsden on the Ellen show after he admitted having a “massive crush” on the Oscar-winning actress.

James, who stars in the Sky Atlantic series Westworld, revealed he once followed the Oscar-winning actress around an airport and took a photograph without her knowledge.

“I’ve had a massive crush on her for years,” James told host Ellen DeGeneres.

“I was on a flight once with her to Rome and when I got off the flight, I followed her to baggage claim and in a very voyeuristic, creepy way, I took a photo of her while she was walking.

“I was avoiding seeing her backstage because I didn’t want her to know I’d been stalking her in Rome International Airport.”

Dame Helen, 71, who had already been interviewed by Ellen, was then brought on stage where she kissed James, 41, as they greeted.

James then fell to his knees as Dame Helen praised his looks.

“Very nice to meet you, I think you’re brilliant and you’re so handsome,” she told the Westworld star.

The pair pretended to run off stage together, with James saying: “Just had to give her my digits really quick.”

Ellen joked: “Wow, you’re trying to break up her marriage.”
