A covert mission was completed on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! as Joel Dommett and Carol Vorderman were tasked with pretending to be romantically interested in one another in a bid to fool their campmates.

The pair were made to cause mischief within the camp in a series of secret tasks that involved stealing talcum powder without raising suspicion.

Comedian Joel, 31, also had to call actor Larry Lamb “sweetcheeks” and convince footballer Wayne Bridge he had a crush on ex-Countdown presenter Carol.

Wayne was easily fooled, telling Joel: “I think she’d be up for it,” adding: “I’ll say something, I’ll set you right up.”

Meanwhile Carol, 55, had to convince Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt of her romantic interest in Joel.

“Do you think I’ve got a chance with him?” she said, adding: “He’s not my normal type at all, it’s a ridiculous age gap, although I have had ridiculous age gaps before.”

Scarlett said: “Just keep being you and wait until you get out of here,” with Carol replying: “Yeah, I don’t want to do anything in here and end up like Peter Andre.” Peter met his ex-wife Katie Price on the ITV show.

The secret missions continued with Joel tricking dancer Jordan Banjo into believing there was a dangerous snake in the camp, and convincing Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas to hide Martin Roberts’ talcum powder and drain the camp’s water.

After it was revealed that the pair’s antics had been a secret mission, Scarlett said: “Oh my God, Carol told me she fancied Joel, I genuinely thought ‘I can’t wait to get outside so that you can go on a date’.”

As a reward for completing the mission the group were handed treats including chocolate balls, peanuts, crisps and chocolate digestives.

Earlier campers Larry and Jordan endured a marine-based battle with water snakes, mud crabs and eels in the latest Bushtucker Trial.

The camp’s oldest and youngest members took on the Hell or High Water trial which saw Jordan delve into a water-filled tank and retrieve keys that unlocked the container’s valves.

In a separate tank, Larry was strapped to a chair with the water released from his teammate’s tank rising around him as water snakes wrapped themselves around his face and head.

Despite an onslaught of marine life, Larry joked: “I have a way with snakes, I used to be like that with women.”

The 69-year-old then had to be calmed down by presenters Ant and Dec, after jungle pythons were added to the tank just as Jordan retrieved the final two keys and released the final valves.

The pair, who Larry described as the “power team”, received all the stars available, meaning a full dinner for the camp.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Wednesday on ITV.
