Gardaí in Lucan are investigating the discovery of the body this evening.

The body of a male in his 30s was found at Griffeen Valley Park, Lucan after 8pm with gunshot injuries.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination.

The Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald has condemned the attack and described it as a “callous disregard for human life displayed by people intent on murder and mayhem”.

The Justice Minister also said every effort will be made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
