The executive council of the ASTI is meeting today to consider pay proposals in a bid to resolve their ongoing dispute.

Details of the deal emerged earlier this week, including an opt-out clause for union members who don’t want to carry out supervision and substitution duties.

There’s also a proposal to gradually increase pay for newly qualified staff to almost 34-thousand a year.

The deal is similar to that already accepted by the TUI and INTO unions.
