
Michael Conlan has revealed that Conor McGregor will carry the Irish tri-colour when he steps into the ring for his fight as a professional boxer next year.
Conlan is due to get his professional career underway on St Patrick’s Day in New York’s Madison Square garden with his opponent still yet to be announced.

Katie Taylor is also expected to fight in the New York venue on March 18, as part of the fight card for Gennady Golovkin’s title defence.
Conlan told a crowd in Belfast that McGregor will be his flag bearer as well as Tweeting out the news from his personal account.
