Jimmy Kimmel is to host the 89th Academy Awards.
The star will be presiding over the show for the first time, the Academy of Motion Pictures said.
In September, he hosted the Emmy Awards for the second time.
The academy waited much later than usual to name a host for the ceremony, which will take place on February 26.
