David Hall, has announced that he has established a new organisation called I Care Housing.
The project, announced on The Ray D’Arcy Show, is designed to buy houses that are destined for repossession and allow the current owners stay there as social tenants.
“The banks can sell houses to vulture funds or they can repossess them; they’re the two choices Ray, and there’s tens of thousands of people affected.
“Our alternative is to say we’ll take over those loans, you stay in your home, and the rent allowance that you would be entitled to comes and pays us.”
I Care Housing is named after David’s daughter, Erica, and homelessness campaigner, Erica Fleming, he told Ray D’Arcy.
David Hall also discussed his time spent as CEO of bereavement charity Console after disgraced CEO Paul Kelly resigned.
