CRUISE SHIPS can look forward to visiting the sunny South-East for free in 2017, 2018 and 2019 as charges have been waived at Rosslare Europort.

The move comes as part of a bid to establish the port as a destination for Europe’s fastest-growing tourism sector and attract some of the 400,000-strong Irish cruise visitor market to the Wexford coast.

Feedback from both crew and passengers of the Fred Olsen Lines’ MS Braemar was overwhelmingly positive, owing to the ease with which a full programme of local activities was arranged and the warm welcome shown by representatives of Wexford County Council, Fáilte Ireland and Visit Wexford.

Commenting on the development, General Manager of Rosslare Europort, John Lynch, highlighted that “up to 400,000 tourists visited Ireland on cruises this year and it is a sector which continues to grow rapidly.”
