After three years Hometown have announced that they are taking a break from music.

Formed by Louis Walsh in 2014, the six-piece band have bagged themsleves two number one singles and have supported some well-known artists in the past two years.

They band, made up of Josh, Cian, Dayl, Brendan and Ryan, opened for Olly Murs in Ireland in April 2015, supported The Vamps throughout the UK and Ireland in 2016 and also supported McBusted in 2015.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the boys explained that they are taking a break from music to “pursue their own things individually”.

It reads: “First of all we want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the support over the last 3 years.

“We have done some amazing things, from number one singles to sold out shows, trips around the world and so much more, and it’s all down to the support you have all shown us.

“We regret to say that at this point in our career we have decided to take a break and pursue our own thing individually.

“We hope you all understand that it is not a decision we have taken lightly but due to many things out of our control it is the best thing for us at this moment in time”.

They then go on to thanks their fans for their continued support and express their excitement for their own individual journeys.

The fandom have since taken to social media using the hashtag #ThankyouHometown to express their sadness to the news.
