The Countdown team were chilled by a scary story recently and it is one that is oh-so familiar to Irish sports fans.

Yes, the participants and audience of the iconic Channel 4 quiz show were treated to the tale of the Mayo GAA curse.

Sports journalist Colin Murray, a Down native, appeared on Countdown’s Dictionary Corner this week and related the tale in suitably spooky style.
