Former X Factor contestant Honey G has confirmed that she has been signed by Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco.
The controversial rapper – who was considered by many to be the novelty act of the series – said she is releasing her first single later this month and suggested an album will follow.
Honey made the announcement in a video message on Twitter, two weeks after she was eliminated from the competition.
Clad in her trademark cap and sunglasses, she said she hoped her fans enjoyed her performance during the X Factor final on Saturday night, and went on: “And yes it is true, I am now signed to Simon Cowell’s label, Syco.

“I’m going to be releasing my first single on the 23rd December and I’m shooting the video this week, so I’m so excited.
“I’m just so happy, I can’t explain how happy I am.”
The rapper – real name Anna Georgette Gilford – continued: “I hope that everyone goes out, buys the single, supports it. We tear it up and we kill it, smash it.
“Bring on the album.”
