It’s been a few years since Breaking Bad left our screens, but Walter White returned this weekend to mock Donald Trump.

Bryan Cranston was one of the guests on Saturday Night Live and reprised his role as the famous crystal meth kingpin, with one difference – this time he’s on track to become head of the DEA.

Seem like a conflict? Not with Donald Trump in charge, is the implication.

Walter, who in Breaking Bad made the transition from chemistry school teacher to drug lord, says he was picked by Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon straight from right-wing news site Breitbart’s comment section – somewhere we personally hadn’t imagined the character dwelling.

Something that does make sense, though, is Walter embracing Trump’s plan for a wall on the border with Mexico. “(It means) a lot less competition for the rest of us”, he says, with struggles against the Mexican Cartel a regular feature of the hit series.

The skit pokes fun at the president-elect’s cabinet picks, many of which are seen as controversial.

Even if it was for a brief moment, it was definitely a treat to see Bryan back in the famous role once again.
