This year’s Golden Globe nominations have been announced.

Musical La La Land, which is being tipped as a favourite for Oscar success, received the most Golden Globe nominations with seven – including nods for stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

A host of British talent is also leading the way – with the likes of Hugh Grant and Hugh Laurie both nominated.

Hugh Grant is up for best actor in a musical or comedy film for his performance in Florence Foster Jenkins.

Lily Collins – the daughter of musician Phil Collins – is nominated for best actress in a musical or comedy for her role in Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply.

Andrew Garfield is nominated for best actor in a film drama for his performance as conscientious objector Desmond Doss in Mel Gibson’s Second World War drama Hacksaw Ridge.

Skyfall star Naomie Harris received a nod for best supporting actress for her role as a crack addict in coming-of-age drama Moonlight.

Claire Foy is nominated for best actress in a television drama series for her portrayal of the Queen in The Crown.

The Golden Globes ceremony will be held on January 8 2017.
