It’s been a long journey for Skepta to this point, but one that’s been made possible by “authenticity, DIY and independence”, according to those closest to him.
The Tottenham MC has a documentary exclusive to Apple Music being released on Monday December 19, fittingly titled Greatness Only.

The documentary shows Skepta, this year’s Mercury Prize winner, reflecting on the period leading up to when he released the Underdog Psychosis video.
“When I finally got there, to where I thought was the top, I wasn’t doing what I was doing in the beginning. I was not happy. This was a straight nervous breakdown,” he says. It’s an important conversation to have.
That experience helped launch his career on to its current trajectory, his friends argue in the trailer, with the focus switching to becoming the “top self, the top Skepta”.
